Data You Send Directly
If you enter a name, phone number, or address into a search form, that submission goes to the third-party provider that powers the result. Brea Residents Directory does not keep a copy of the search in its own record system. If you write to us, the message and contact details you include are available to us so we can respond.
Information Collected Automatically
Hosting systems may record ordinary technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and time of access. We use aggregate information to keep the pages working and to understand broad traffic patterns. Basic cookies or similar tools may be used for analytics or, when applicable, advertising measurement.
How We Use It
We use limited data to operate the site, answer messages, repair errors, measure traffic, and improve the reference material. We do not sell visitor lists or create an individual profile from the public-record topics someone reads.
Links to Other Services
The pages link to county and state portals, libraries, archives, courts, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor follows one of those links, the destination's privacy policy controls the information submitted there. Sponsored result forms are supplied by an outside provider and have their own data practices.
Who May Process Technical Data
Hosting and support vendors may process server logs to keep the service available. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. We disclose information when a valid legal process requires it; otherwise, we do not sell or rent a visitor list.
Security Measures
The site is served over an encrypted connection, and technical logs are retained only for the purposes described in this policy. There are no site accounts, passwords, or personal profiles here to expose. No online measure can promise absolute security, so avoid placing sensitive identity documents in an ordinary contact message.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor sent information to the contact mailbox, please write through the Contact page so the message can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.
Your California Privacy Choices
Depending on coverage and exceptions, the California Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code sections 1798.100 and following, gives covered consumers rights to know, delete, correct, limit certain sensitive information, and opt out of sale or sharing. The California Privacy Protection Agency provides current guidance. California's Delete Act, SB 362, created the DROP one-stop deletion mechanism for registered data brokers; current enrollment details should be checked at privacy.ca.gov.
Because this reference site keeps little direct visitor data, a request usually means checking the contact mailbox and available technical logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Government records held by the City of Brea, Orange County, or California are outside our control. Removal, correction, or confidentiality requests for those records must go to the custodian. The California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000 and following, governs access to identifiable public agency records, not deletion from this private reference.
Changes to This Policy
If our data practices change, a revised policy will be posted here with a new effective date when appropriate. Continued use after a revision means the updated policy applies to later use of the service.
